Although it is still technically Purim until sundown, my sights are already on our next spring holiday. This is your official notice that Passover is (only) twenty-nine days away.
Now, twenty-nine days may feel like an eternity. But before you know it, you'll turn around and it will be April and you'll be wondering if there's still time to register for the KHN Second Night Community Seder.
There are many ways to prepare for Passover. If you're hosting, there's the menu planning and shopping to do, the cleaning and cooking. If you're lucky enough to be a guest at someone else's seder, hopefully you will at least bring some Joyva Marshmallow Twists (cherry flavored is my favorite- but hard to find!) But don't forget, there is also a spiritual preparation that we are called to do during this time. While we are physically cleaning out the chametz, the leaven bread and unfit for Passover items in our house, we are also commanded to clean out our spiritual chametz as well.

This year KHN will have several different ways to prepare spiritually for our z'man cheruteinu, our season of liberation. I hope you will join me for all of them!
A (Re)Introduction to the Passover Seder, Sunday, March 30th, 12 p.m., In-Person at KHN Join me on Rosh Chodesh Nissan- the first day of the month of Nissan, the month of Passover -at KHN for a fun and lively in-person discussion on the fundamentals of the Passover seder. Whether this year you will be attending your first seder or your 100th, this class will be an opportunity to learn more about the haggadah and bring more meaning to your own Passover seder.
Bring your own lunch, (non-Passover) desserts and snacks will be provided!
Bucks County Night of Jewish Learning, Sunday, March 30th, 7 p.m. on Zoom Later that same day join me and the Bucks County Jewish clergy for a special online night of learning. During the first hour we will welcome and learn from keynote speaker Dr. Ora Horn Prouser, the CEP and Academic Dean at the Academy for Jewish Religion. Dr. Horn Prouser will speak on “The Hillel Sandwich: Processing the Bitter and the Sweet at Our Passover Seders.”
In the second hour there will be opportunities to learn from several Bucks County clergy, including myself, on the topic of Passover. I will be teaching on the Greek origins and influences of the Passover seder.
Second Night Community Seder, Sunday April 13th, In-Person at KHN And of course, join us at KHN for our annual Second Night Community Seder, featuring music from our own KHN musicians. More details, including time and registeration information, coming soon!
Until sundown, Happy Purim. I also wish you a Shabbat full of peace and joy.
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Janine Jankovitz
