Over at our house we’ve enjoyed the last two nights of Hanukkah together as a family. There have been candles and stories, a few gifts, chocolate coins and many plates of fried items to enjoy with guests. With everything happening in the world, it feels good to celebrate and enjoy together in small ways.
Here some extra doses of Hanukkah for you to enjoy too:
A few stories about Hanukkah from NPR to listen to: Hanukkah Lights
This story from Hey Alma about the Iranian Jewish Hanukkah celebration Erev Yalda: Double The Light
We have more chances to celebrate together as a community this weekend. Join us tonight for Shabbat services at 7 p.m. Saturday we have our big Hanukkah event beginning at 5:30 p.m. with an all ages movie-feel free to come in your Hanukkah Pajama(kas)!- followed by Havdalah and hanukkiah lighting. We will be hosting a Hanukkah cookie exchange as well with cookies to be donated to Fisherman’s Mark food pantry in Lambertville, NJ. And finally, on Sunday join us at 6 p.m. at the New Hope Visitor’s Center where KHN has been invited to light the Hanukkiah and celebrate Hanukkah together! Please note that this event will be moved inside due to weather. Check out the E-Bulletin for more information.
Wishing you a Hanukkah and Shabbat filled with light and peace,
Shabbat Shalom,
