An egalitarian home for your Jewish community.

KHN National Refugee Shabbat Service

Please join us at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night, October 19, 2018, for a special Kabbalat Shabbat service when we will combine welcoming in Shabbos with a discussion of Jewish values and the worldwide refugee crisis. As always, non-KHN members are welcome. See the complete description for more details.

Kehilat HaNahar will be a proud participant in HIAS’ National Refugee Shabbat, during which Jews across the country will take action for refugees.

In the face of unprecedented attempts to close America’s doors to those seeking freedom from violence and persecution, this is a critical moment to give voice to our values as Jews and as Americans.

Over the Shabbat of October 19-20, 2018, the American Jewish community will dedicate sacred time and space to refugees and asylum seekers. Together, we will learn about the global refugee crisis, connect to the national Jewish movement for refugees, celebrate local acts of welcome and recommit to putting our values into action.

Our congregation will be hearing a panel of speakers including Talia Delone, from the Lambertville Latino Tutor Program,Sue-Ann Divito of the Immigrants Right Action Group, and Ellen Miller from the Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement.

Deva Troy will sing her song,"Anyone’s Child.”

There will be time for questions to the panelists and a discussion about the issues.

We hope you will join this important program and Shabbat service.
