Our Rabbi

Rabbi Janine Jankovitz leads our little shul with excellence as she engages community members of all backgrounds and ages. She offers her vibrant energy, intellectual and open mind, and deeply connected spirit to Judaism and Torah. Her commitment to building our tradition of providing a welcoming, diverse, and innovative Reconstructionist community is a gift to our Bucks County community and beyond. Her expertise in building a strong educational program for children provides great value to our youngest members and their families.
Rabbi Janine graduated from Temple University.  She served as a Rabbinic Intern for KHN and was later ordained by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2020. From 2020-2024, she served as the rabbi for Congregation Beth El-Ner Tamid in Broomall, PA.  She became KHN’s Rabbi in July 2024.

Miriam Ginsberg

Miriam Ginsberg, a second-year student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, comes alive through leading Jewish prayer and song, and through helping people access Judaism. Raised with a deep grounding in both Renewal and Conservative Judaism in West Hartford, Connecticut, Miriam finds joy in weaving different traditions together, and in opening the door for people to find inspiration, connection, and a sense of belonging in the rich and varied world of Judaism. Miriam found her way to the rabbinate through helping to build the New Synagogue Project (NSP), a new synagogue in Washington, DC that is radically inclusive, spiritually vibrant, and centered around a vision of justice and liberation for all. For six years, Miriam led davening and community singing circles at NSP, created new spaces for people to find spiritual connection, and worked to increase accessibility for all members of the community. She was delighted to continue her work at NSP last year as the community’s first rabbinic intern. Miriam is thrilled and honored to serve Kehilat HaNahar this year, and to become part of this special community. When not singing or studying, Miriam loves to make art, take walks in the woods, and rewatch The Office for the zillionth time. She can’t wait to meet everyone and to get to know KHN!
